My commitment to gut health is deeply rooted in my personal journey. During my first year of college, I was so excited to be living on my own, meeting new friends, and living in the snow for the first time! I couldn't be happier! Until I began to deal with a number of gut issues: constipation, bloating after every meal, heartburn, gas + more. After going to a handful of doctors, the ultimate recommendation I was given was to take a daily laxative. This didn't sit right with me. So I embarked on a quest for an alternative path to heal my gut.
I poured countless hours into finding a natural remedy to help mend my gut. What I came up with was: embracing a vegan lifestyle and adopting a high-carb/low-fat diet. I thought I had found the solution! Unfortunately, after three years, I had to face a candid truth: my digestive issues were not only still present but worse and now accompanied by additional challenges: acne and hormonal imbalances.
When I began reintroducing meat and eggs and eating a more balanced diet, something magical happened: I started feeling like myself again! It was as if a fog had lifted, my energy levels surged, my mental clarity sharpened, and the persistent bloating began to fade away, bit by bit. Even more wonderfully, my body seemed to find its own rhythm, with bowel movements becoming regular and predictable. Something that, at one point, I truly never thought would be possible.
I discovered the transformative power of nourishing whole foods. This led me to get certified as an NTP, CNC, and eventually a Board Certified Holistic Nutritionist (BCHN) so I could help others who are dealing with similar gut issues.
My extensive education and clinical experience make me the perfect candidate to help someone with gut issues. But most of all, my personal experience. I know firsthand exactly what you're going through, and I know you want answers. I get it. And that's why I strive to be the practitioner I wished I had during that freshman year of college when I first got sick.
